There was nothing better after a long day of running all over the island and endless training than to get off of your feet and stretch out so that aching muscles could relax and bones shift back into proper alignment. It was a good thing that his own bed at home wasn’t much softer than the pallets on the island Hiyoshi thought as he rolled his shoulders, first one side then the other before folding his arms behind his head and using them as pillow while blinking lazily at the makeshift roof of the rather haphazard looking shelter Kirihara had somehow managed to construct in barely a day. Through a few gaps in the ceiling he could catch glimpses of the night sky and a few stars that peeked through into the single room interior. Outside a gust of wind blew in and rattled at some of the less stable parts of the hut and from a distance he could hear the slow footsteps of his boyfriend, returning from relieving himself before a good night’s sleep.

“Shiraishi and you make a pretty good team...” He raised his voice so he could be heard outside as well. “What do you think he’s doing ?” Ever since he had been privy to the doubles match of Sanada and Yukimura versus Shiraishi and Kirihara he had been trying to figure it out so that he could do the same when the doubles tournament finally rolled around. “I mean it’s not like you have a similar style or anything and I doubt he knows your playing style that well....”

“Not good enough, we didn’t win.” This time. Kirihara left the last words unspoken as a promise to himself. Perhaps Shirashi had been the wrong choice. The mop-head rounded the corner of the makeshift shelter, boxers hanging low on his hips as he stretched his arms over his head ready to crawl into bed and get close to the warmth of his boyfriend’s body. The island was too fucking cold most nights. “We’ve played together before.” Back in that weird camp, Shirashi had helped Kirihara unlock another level of his tennis, a less dangerous version of his famed devil mode.

“Eh, either way I won’t make the same mistakes next time.” He assured the other captain as well as himself as her burrowed under the heap of blankets he’d hauled up to the shelter that was now acting as their island home. The breaks in the roof weren’t done intentionally, but Kirihara supposed they were okay. Hiyoshi had that thing for stars and he guessed he sort of liked looking at them too as long as the blond was by his side. It wasn’t like he was gonna make a habit out of staring up into the sky for long hours at night when he could be doing other things like training.

“Which one are you looking at?” Constellation, he meant as he popped out of the blankets at Hiyoshi’s side, resting black curls against the crook of Hiyoshi’s arm trying to follow his line of sight.

“Hm?” Turning his head a little Hiyoshi glanced over at Kirihara then turned his attention back to the smattering of stars above them. “Not really at any.” The holes in the ceiling weren’t THAT big...yet. “You were still pretty good together.” He tacked on, shifting his hand out from under his own head to let his fingers tangle in damp curls as they were wont to do when they were stretched out together like this. “You could even compete in the tournament together.”

“I’m playing with you in the tournament.” Kirihara quickly reminded, secretly loving the slight pull on his curls when Hiyoshi wrapped his fingers in them. “Or are you trying to get rid of me?” He asked with a slight smirk as he pulled covers further up over them.

The wind rattled the makeshift shelter around them again and Kirihara’s eyes went a little rounder then usual as he held his breath until the roof stopped shaking. Eh, who was he kidding, he’d built this place for Hiyoshi and himself, it was practically a rock. Of course, in Kirhara’s own eyes he could do no wrong and was the absolute best in everything. Shelter building included.

"We really need to start practicing for it soon then." Glancing over at Kirihara Hiyoshi ignored the rattle of the hut to turn on his side and shift to lean over his boyfriend, lips twisting into a little smirk as he taunted playfully, "I refuse to be embarrassed because of you."

"Che, speak for yourself. I'm not losing because you can't keep up." Kirihara returned the smirk of a smile with one of his own, reaching up to brush knuckles over Hiyoshi's jaw in a soft punch. "I refuse to lose, Hiyoshi-buchou." He focused on the man hovering ove him rather then the rattling ocean wind the small hut protected them from. "We'll start tomorrow." Fingers moved to push blond fringe out of caramel colored eyes, searching for the determination in them that actually made up part of the reason why Kirihara sort of respected his boyfriend more then most people. "Pulling your weight on the courts is the least you can do after I built you this amazing hut." The raven haired boy teased.

"Good." Hiyoshi narrowed his eyes though the playful smirk didn't disappear from his lips. "Because I will kick your ass if you get distracted by something shiny." Ducking down he slanted his lips over Kirihara's in a quick kiss before nipping at that full, pouty bottom lip. "And don't think I don't know exactly why you built this place." He tugged a little harder at the thick black curls.

“Heh, oh? Why’s that?” Kirihara’s eyes narrowed when fingers pulled at his hair interested as to what exactly Hiyoshi would describe. He leaned up to kiss Hiyoshi before he had the chance to answer, pulling away just a short while later looking expectant.

"Because you knew I wouldn't wear these PJs anywhere else." Licking his lips Hiyoshi nodded to the side where the heart covered pajama top was still folded up.

"Yeah, that's the reason." Kirihara rolled his eyes at his boyfriend. "Actually, I just didn't want to be seen publicly with someone from Hyoutei." His lips found the other's, pushing full we kisses against his mouth. "Remember how pissed you were when I kissed you back in the pool." The mop head mused out loud. Hiyoshi was a lot less uptight now then he had been then but no less amusing to still tease.

"Of course I do." Hiyoshi huffed a little though his lips softened under the pressure of Kirihara's. "That was my first kiss, idiot." It took an effort to push back a snappy remark about Kirihara maybe preferring to be seen with his 'future wife' instead. They finally had a quiet moment and after their last row he didn't want to start another fight about the thoughtless teasing of the annoying girl his boyfriend seemed to be so fond of. "Besides you'd just accused me of being a cowardly stick in the mud trying to peek at you to get my jollies." He raised a fair eyebrow at the other man. "Why?"

"You were being a cowardly stick in the mud, and you were trying to peek at me." He laughed, teasing for the most part. "At any rate you're my stick in the mud." Hiyoshi didn't really have anyone to be jealous over, Tachibana An included. Kirihara might have been an idiot, but he was loyal when he cared enough about something or someone.

“Lucky me.” Rolling his eyes Hiyoshi snorted softly though he settled back down against Kirihara’s side, hackles smoothed down again slightly. “And I was not peeking.” He added, slinging his free arm over the smaller captain’s middle. “You were just acting like a girl.”

“You are lucky, and you were so peeking.” Kirihara turned into the arm that was resting comfortably over his waist giving Hiyoshi a sharp glare for that comment about acting like a girl. “You prance around with wet wipes and you have the gall to call me a girl?” He snorted. Kirihara couldn’t think of one thing he’d done in his life that constituted acting like a girl. Ever.

Kirihara sort of liked Hiyoshi’s weird quirks though, and he guess he was sort of thankful for the wet wipe the last time they’d slept up on this hill top. “Baka...” He breathed while thinking about it, leaning into seal his lips over Hiyoshi’s with another kiss.

"I don't prance." Hiyoshi protested, nipping at Kirihara's lips before questing between them for a deeper kiss. "And I wasn't the one acting all shy about you looking at me." He smirked slightly, triumphant despite being flushed and out of breath after the breath. "I thought you were going to explode with a nosebleed that time." Somehow it was still one of the most fun aspects of their relationship to compete with Kirihara.

“I was not shy!” Kirihara frowned, reaching up to punch a kiss against Hiyoshi’s lip, stealing his breath away for the brief moment of their lip lock. “Like I give a crap if you look at me.” He added with a soft ‘Che...’ when he pulled away. “It’s not like I can blame you for wanting to look.” Kirihara’s cocky nature came out in full force as he slid tighter against Hiyoshi’s body, completely oblivious to the fact that the wind was picking up around the frail shelter they were housed under.

"Right." Tightening his hold on Kirihara's waist Hiyoshi let his hand settle possessively on his boyfriend's backside. "You didn't act like a girl at all - it's totally manly to cry pervert and cover your private bits." It could be noted though that he didn't protest looking at Kirihara or claimed there was nothing to see, since - even if he had in fact not been trying to peek on Kirihara he certainly enjoyed looking at his boyfriend now. And if the shack was shaking around them a little more he was happy to ignore that in favor of another kiss.

“Che, you make it sound like I was dramatic about it or something, its nothing you don’t have.” Kirihara rolled his eyes, covering for himself and arching back a little into the hand on his bottom in hopes to distract his boyfriend. When Hiyoshi leaned into kiss him he was more the glad to reciprocate -- after all, it was just another great way to pull the attention off of his less then “manly” behavior back in the pool all those months ago.

“That’s what I thought.” Flexing his fingers Hiyoshi smiled against Kirihara’s lips as he squeezed the firm muscle. Nudging his knee between Kirihara’s legs to fit their bodies together even closer he completely missed a rather ominous rattle and creaking as the wind began to turn and blow against the length of their cabin. “But I guess it’s not bad to look at anyways.”

“You guess?” Kirihara pulled back, dark eyebrow raised in a look that told Hiyoshi he was feeling pretty skeptical about that statement. “That's why you look all the time, right?” He reached up between them, flicking Hiyoshi in the forehead. “Baka...”

“You like it when I look.” Hiyoshi defended himself with a note of amusement, sliding closer and pressing his hips against Kirihara’s. “Don’t think I haven’t seen the way you strut just because I said you had a nice ass.” He patted the body part in question then allowed a little smile to soften his face as he finally admitted. “But I do like looking at you.” And if he was completely honest nothing could turn him on quite as much as Kirihara looking at him either. Not even that time with the cat ears.

“Maybe I do.” Kirihara perked up when Hiyoshi fully admitted that he liked looking. On top of that, the blond had been right, Kirihara had strutted ever since Hiyoshi had complimented his ass. Feeding the ego of Kirihara Akaya was nearly as dangerous as pumping Atobe Keigo’s up sometimes.

“You aren’t so bad to look at yourself, sort of. Heh...” Kirihara didn’t mind the closeness at all, much less how Hiyoshi drew himself closer to find every available nook and cranny between the two of them.

“Thanks.” Hiyoshi rolled his eyes at the vote of confidence in his appearance. “Just don’t start preening or I think your parents might divorce you.” He teased, sneaking his fingertips under the waistband of Kirihara’s pajama pants to rub little circles over the warm, soft skin. “And I am not giving up captaincy of Hyotei no matter how nice your ass.”

“Che, preening is such a Hyoutei thing.” Kirihara would never even dream of making himself look that stupid. He’d had enough to last him in the two weeks he spent with Atobe to last him a life time and the life time after that too.

“Are you sure about that, Wakashi?” Kirihara smirked, leaning in to kiss Hiyoshi once more.

The shelter around them gave out a loud creek that didn’t sound very good as the wind picked up a little more. Kirihara told himself not to worry about it and keep kissing Hiyoshi. He’d built this hut so it was pretty much destruction proof.

"Pretty much " Hiyoshi murmured against Kirihara's lips before glancing past his boyfriend to give the hut a wary look. Kirihara seemed to be confident in his construction though and for the time being he might as well trust him. "Or would you dump me if I didn't?"

“I would most definitely dump you.” Kirihara laughed, joking with the other boy.

The hut let out another loud cracking noise as the building shifted in the wind, Kirihara rolled to glare up at the roof-line as if he could make the place stop shuttering with pure will power. Some of the palm branches that he’d thrown over the top of the hut rattled again, lifting in the wind to give the couple a better view of the night sky.

“It’s supposed to do that, because you like stars.” Kirihara quickly reasoned, not about to let Hiyoshi think that he had a short coming when it came to hut building.

"That's very thoughtful of you." Hiyoshi praised, not buying it for a moment. "Maybe we should get a tarp for it tomorrow though...in case it rains." Sitting up he brushed his hair out of his face, making a mental note to get it cut again before meeting Akaya's mother. "Maybe we can figure out how to rig some sort of window."

“What do you mean rig it? It’s perfect!” Kirihara sat up as well, blankets pooling around his waist when he did. Arms crossed over his chest as the cool breeze hit him. Apparently it wasn’t only hitting the roof, but the sides of the shelter as well and somehow it was managing to get its way through the painstakingly constructed walls Kirihara had erected over night.

“I wouldn’t say perfect...” Another strong gust of wind had the far side of the wall bowing inwards quite impressively and Hiyoshi fisted his hand in the blanket, ready to jump up and leg it, though he relaxed again slightly when the wind died down for a moment. “It has a few points that could be improved...”

A pout that was usually only reserved for Yukimura and on occasion Sanada made its way onto Kirihara’s features at Hiyoshi’s true assessment of the hut. “Yeah! Well lets see you do better.” Just as the words left his mouth there was another creek of drift wood and bamboo followed by a very loud crash.

As it was, the hut turned out not to be so destruction proof and certainly not perfect especially not now in its be-felled state. The boys were lucky that the brunt of what ended up landing on them was palm leaves from the the roof. Kirihara’s reflexes kicked in, but weren’t quick enough, leaving him thrashing to untangle himself form the wreckage of greenery.

Hiyoshi was never gonna let him live this down.

“How about....” Brushing bits of wood and leaves off of himself Hiyoshi flexed his arms then climbed to his feet to do the same with his legs, looking for any kind of injury the sudden rush of adrenalin would have worked to conceal. “We build the next one together?” Turning to Kirihara with a silent sigh the blond Hyoutei captain bent to help free his boyfriend from what had been the roof. “It shouldn’t take too long since we have a lot of the material here already.” Pulling Kirihara to his feet he gave him the same once over to make sure the junior demon hadn’t been skewered by a stray branch.

The mockery that Kirihara expected never came, in fact instead of that he felt himself being pulled upward by strong arms. “It was only meant to be temporary anyway.” He quickly covered for himself, watching as Hiyoshi looked him over. “Though I have to admit, that wasn’t the way I pictured us knocking it down.” Somehow Hiyoshi’s calm nature had managed to rope Kirihara’s flaming temper in and cool it off before it could even flare up.

“Really.” Lips quirking into a dry smirk Hiyoshi rustled through the debris for a moment to retrieve their blankets and sleeping bags. “You’ll have to show me your idea next time.” Giving everything a firm shake he then maneuvered out of the danger zone and set down their bedding again. “At least we have a perfect view of the star tonight.” And his precious telescope had been outside the hut and thus undamaged - luckily he hadn’t really expected Kirihara’s hut to be overly stable anyways.

“I can show it to you now.” Kirihara’s tone was suggestive as he supervised Hiyoshi moving and cleaning off the mound of blankets Kirihara had accumulated from many a date on that hill top. “The stars can watch too, I guess.”

Hiyoshi was a really fucking good boyfriend Kirihara decided in that moment. Not that he hadn’t thought it in the past or anything, but right then something clicked. Not that he was gonna share that little tidbit out loud or anything but the dumb smile on his face might give him away. “The fleece blanket should go on the bottom, baka...its softer.” He motioned with his hand, waiting for Hiyoshi to fix the problem. Supervising was so much more his style, not to mention it made up for those stupid lovey dovey feelings that had fluttered in the bottom of his stomach just a moment ago.

Switching blankets as instructed - and Kirihara better not think this was going to be a permanent thing - Hiyoshi stepped back when they were both satisfied with the arrangement and ran his fingers through his hair to dislodge a few stray pieces of vegetation. “Right now?” Cocking his hip he rested his free hand on it and smirked at Kirihara’s attempt at suggestiveness. “”I don’t know - we’ll just have to do it again after the new hut is built.” He pursed his lips in teasing mock consternation. “Besides if you’re going to be sore tomorrow we won’t get any training done.”

“You mean if you’re going to be sore.” God-damn, why did Hiyoshi have to look so fucking hot sometimes...well alright, all the time, but especially then. Kirihara wasted no time in coming over to Hiyoshi’s side, pressing into him only to pull him down into the pile of well made up blankets. “And yeah, right now.” He caged himself over Hiyoshi, leaning down to take his mouth with a deep kiss.

“Mhm...” Reaching up Hiyoshi combed his fingers through the messy tangle of curls and smirked against Kirihara’s lips, waiting for the moment when his boyfriend was distracted enough by their kiss that all it took was a little nudge, a quick flip and he was comfortably positioned above the Rikkai captain, taking control of their lip-lock as well as their situation. “I don’t think so ..” He murmured smugly, pressing a leg between Kirihara’s. “You’d still be in the dog house if it hadn’t collapsed.”

The temper that Hiyoshi had done such a nice job of keeping contained exploded. “IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!” Kirihara’s green eyes glared up at Hiyoshi despite the fact that his hips were still very much rolling up to meet the friction of Hiyoshi’s knee between his legs.

Damn, Wakashi. He thought, trying to keep up the bubble of anger that he wanted to direct at his boyfriend for making fun of the disaster that was his hut. Hiyoshi made it really tough though.

“Of course it was.” This time Hiyoshi didn’t even try to sound sincere as he pressed another firm kiss to Kirihara’s lips before ducking his head and leaving the first of a many, open mouthed kisses on his boyfriend’s neck. “Just like the Titanic.” It might be mean to poke fun at Kirihara for his failure as an architect and builder but the flaily, pouting reaction was just too cute to pass up. No wonder Marui considered him an alternative to TV.

“Oi! You can’t make comments like that and then...” The rest of Kirihara’s sentence drowned in his throat when Hiyoshi began his relentless assault on his neck. “Wakashi!” Dark brows met in the center of his forehead while he squirmed a little under the weight of the other tennis player. “I worked fucking hard on that hut for you!” He shook his head and bucked his hips trying to unseat Hiyoshi from under him.

“And the next one will be even better.” Pulling back for a moment Hiyoshi licked his lips and stared at Kirihara with heated tawny eyes. “Because we’ll build it together.” Shifting a little he moved his weight to pin Kirihara down enough to lean in for another, firm, demanding kiss. “It will be the best hut on the entire island.”
