About You
Three positive adjectives about yourself: Curious, easy-going, friendly
Three negative adjectives about yourself: Jealous, lazy, impatient
A few of your likes: music ,animals (especially cats), walks in the forest, city trips, being with friends
A few of your dislikes: people that talk behind people's backs, intolerance, hypocritic persons
A few of your pet peeves: stupidity in general, as in people taking too long to understand something easy (or something that seems easy to understand to me)
A few of your talents and hobbies (please differentiate between the two): Hobbies: reading, watching movies, listening to music, going to concerts and festivals, doing fun stuff with friends, playing the guitar. I don't really know about talents, I can't think of anything specific, but I'm doing quite well at school without too much effort, so maybe learning could be considered a talent.
Where do you see yourself in ten years (include things like the job you’d like to have, where you’d like to live, if you are married or not, etc): I'm hoping I'll have a job that combines my interests, being a writer for a music magazine would be great. I'd like to have travelled, and maybe live in the UK. Don't know about being married, depends if I bump into the right person.
Your motto on life, or how you like to live it: I want to see as much of the world as possible and just do the things I like doing.
Your three favorite books and why they’re your favorites: Wooh.. hard question there. I've read so many books I thought were great, it's almost impossible to choose my three favourites, but I'll give it a try:
1984, George Orwell. I couldn't possibly explain why I love this book so much. It just changed the way I look at things happening in the world today, you could say I became more sceptic towards politics due to this book. I was 15 when I first read it, but still felt I fully understood. The whole dictatorship theme really moved me in a way.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl. This might seem like a strange choice after 1984, but this used to be my favourite book when I was in elementary school. When I found out Tim Burton was going to make a movie out of it, I sort of re-discovered the book and realized how much I loved it (and still love it!). I like the look on life Dahl presents in this book, the way he seems to want to tell us that even the worst situations can turn good in time.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Tried to avoid it, but I simply couldn't. I started reading the HP series when I was 11 and became hooked. They're not the best books I've read, but they're great nontheless. And they've given me hours (even days) of entertainment.
Your three favorite movies and why they’re your favorites:
Edward Scissorhands. I love Tim Burton's movies, and this is one of the movies that makes me cry every single time I see it. The story is just so moving, and I love the way it is really a present-day fairytale, with a message. And I haven't even started about how much I love the way the movie looks, from the editing to the costumes.
V for Vendetta. Continuing the dictator theme. When I saw a poster of the movie at the cinema, I just knew I was going to love it. Which was kind of weird because I didn't know anything about it yet besided the title. Turns out my initial feelings were right, I absolutely love this movie. The plot, the costumes, the acting, everything is just so good.
I would say Brokeback Mountain, but I'll have to be honest and say Johnny English. I just love that movie so much, I saw it about 10 times already and still fall off my chair laughing every time I see it. Sorry, I can't help it!
Where do you feel most at home? Probably the place I live now. But I adapt to new places quite easily.
Pirates Related
Why do you like Pirates of the Caribbean?: I like the way the movies combine action with an interesting story. And the fact that the movies never get boring.
Who’s your favorite character and why? (This does not mean who you feel you’re most like): I never really had a favourite, until I saw DMC. Then I became a total Norrington fan. He's the only character, IMO, who really develops and shows a different side of the character in DMC. I also like him in CotBP, especially to see the contrast between the perfectly polite English gentleman and the ex-commodore who got drunk in Tortuga, neglected his wig and became a pirate.
Who do you feel you are least like in Pirates and why? I was going to say Davy Jones, but when I was typing down why, I found out I actually do understand some of the things he does and can in some way relate to them (that does not include making people join my crew for a hundred years). I think I'm least like Will. He's way to patient with some people (Jack, for one). (I just noticed I do this bracket thing quite a lot). And he is so completely selfless. I could never be that selfless, loyal and patient. And I believe no real human being really can.
Miscellaneous Ramblings
Where did you hear about this community?: I searched for norrington as interest and then found this.
Post at least 3 clear photos of yourself (if you have no pictures, just describe what you look like):
Me and my dad in a train in Italy. I was a bit annoyed with my dad for acting like an idiot. (I'm the one on the left, just to be sure ;) )
Me and my sister, this time, I'm on the right.
Here I'm reading in the garden.. although I don't know where the book went when the pic was made.
You really don't want to know how long it took me to type this down .. some of the questions needd more thinking than I had expected.
