I'm hooked on Jack/Bill backstory and that's the darkest Bill I've seen yet, but very believable. There's an undercurrent of cruelty beneath canon Bill's gloom, which you've brought out very clearly here.
Not sure how Will came to be on the ship, or why he doesn't seem to remember this later. Maybe you should write some more...
Well, we don't know that Will knows he's Bill's son, just that Bill knows he's Will's father. It's possible they raided a ship and Bill saw him and heard his name and rescued him for a bit to see if he was a pirate.
But I can definitely see something dark beneath Bill's characterization - he was a true pirate for a long time before he ended up on the Dutchman, after all.
Oh. Oh my. Oh dear... o.O Bill is one of my favorite characters. This is a whole new look of him I have seen. And it is good. Very, very good. I love it.
I'm glad you liked it. I think there's a darkness to him, so that was fun to bring out, and in a way, I think it's his way of trying to give Will something *more* than what he can offer. His ideas of the best ways to express fatherhood are a little...off. Hee.
