I've only read one or two other Sparrabeth stories like this, where we don't see the details of the progression of the relationship... it happens so naturally it's like breathing. This was uplifting and it was about love, but not the romantic aspect of love, rather the attachment/commitment aspect.
I got a real sense of place from the story. I felt like I was in that cottage and had a sense of what their lives were like.
