Is it just me, or is the use of "arse" in narrative like this really out-of-place?
It just makes me laugh.
You're right, this fic isn't terrible, but oh goodness, the gratuitous "quick let's throw the Sue and the object of lust together and never mind believable actions and motives"... well that makes me laugh too.

Honey, I've been writing stories for fully 15 years, and that's not counting the stories I made up before that which I never wrote down, because I couldn't write legibly yet.
I consider myself a writer, and I have been making stories for my entire life. I take it seriously. Am I published? Not yet. Not really. I've never been paid, at any rate. But I am a writer, down to my very atoms. Yet, I can't tell where this magic line between "quality" and "junk" is ( ... )
