Anabella Swann

This isn't the fic I originally planned to do today. It's actually much better.

That's not saying much, though.

TITLE: POTC: The Secrets of the Dire Soul
CULPRIT: savvy.for.johnny
SUMMARY: "Elizabeth's sister Anabella get's stuck on the Black Pearl with Jack Sparrow, when he finds himself face to face with his greatest fear; a ship far worse than ( Read more... )

Now, my memory isn't what it used to be, but I don't quite remember Elizabeth having black hair. Generally, siblings have similar/the same hair colour, especially in those days, where I imagine there wasn't much interracial breeding. Oh well.

This Sue is just baaaaaaaaad.

I don't think that it's that much of a problem, actually. Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, had very dark hair, while her sister Mary was said to have more of a blondish-red colour.

Additionally, although I didn't read the excerpt thoroughly, there's always the possibility that they could have different mothers - perhaps Elizabeth's died in childbirth, her father remarried and had Anabella with his second wife, who then also died. (Of course, this is all pretty hard on poor Governor Swann who has to deal with the fact that both his wives died and he fathered a Sue.)

I suppose it's surprising that she has black hair, as it's extremely uncommon in those with non-Asian heritage...it's not impossible, though.

Well, many Italian (or part Italian) people have black hair. It's actually very, very, very dark brown, but it looks black. Not defending the Sue, that was just for the sake of argument.

(By the way: Icon love!)

"came home from school"? Maybe "finished her lessons", as I imagine the Swanns would have private tutors or the like.

Begone, Sue!

"Miss." "Miss Swann." No Ms. in the 18th century, chicky.

"I'm a pirate. Her father wouldn't allow it."

Correct! But then again, why are Jack'n'Sue suddenly worried about "commitment" and getting past her father and whatever? You sneak out, you have your roll in the hay, you're done. Jack doesn't WANT to "commit"; he doesn't NEED to "commit." He is NOT looking for "the one."

Her opinions changed quickly.

Well, at least that's accurate.

Jack had now spotted the very hole he watched Worvelt torture and kill...

I assume she means "where he watched..." in which case I'm guessing the end of this sentence is "his last ship full of Mary Sue One True Loves."

My sister and I actually do have different colored hair: mine is brown and hers is blond. I suppose if there were reeeeeally recessive genes in the family, Elizabeth's hair color could be a fluke in the bloodline.

"'Ey, how you not gonna let her near Captain Jack Sparrow? I'm as well bred as they get, savvy?"

This irks me in uncountable ways. This has to be one of the worst renderings of Jack Sparrow's accent I've ever seen. Argh!

Vague points for a general lack of Elizabeth-bashing, but minus a trillion for everyone else. Thisficissolame.
