Alohomora this.

This confounded castle, for being so large and rather endless what with rooms appearing out of nowhere on the odd Tuesday, only seems to become smaller when one simply wants a bit of time to himself. Or with another, for discussion, debate or other indoor activities.

I am weary of students barging into my office without announcement, interrupting whatever I might be doing at the time. Just because you can alohomora a door open does not mean that you should. They are locked for a reason and you would do well to remember that. The next time, my aim will not be off, and you will wind up with leeks for ears.

Also, there seems to be some sort of fascination with oblivious children appearing in every nook, cranny, niche and aclove within the Hogwarts walls. How many times am I going to trip over a Gryffindor first-year behind the second statue of Wildred the Wibbly on the second floor, or a babbling Ravenclaw when I am simply trying to find a particular volume of Ten Thousand Spores For Home and Office in the rearmost aisle of the Restricted Section.

Why are they even IN the Restricted Section?

I am beginning to think that perhaps, for the continued well-being of the Hogwarts student body - and the occasional professor - I should look into taking a holiday, away from the school, during which to get things, er, done.

Perhaps at the weekend, provided that someone else has no other plans.

Somewhere, at this moment, Potter is undoubtedly doing something insipid and ignorant. I shall go and cheer myself up by catching him in the act.

Zie gezunt.
