Preludes and Nocturnes

Hogwarts, I have returned.

New Orleans was, in a word, moist. I saw very little of the actual city itself, and despite my desire to look in an intriguingly dank and dismal little voodoo shop on rue Theday, jaded_sirius had other ideas. He spent an obscene amount of time prowling Bourbon Street, flinging plastic beads at hapless passerby and calling it "fun." I do not see how assault and littering are to be considered amusement, but he did seem to enjoy it immensely.

I however preferred the time spent back at our place of lodging.

For the record, I do not snore, and my sleeping habits are not 'comparative to that of a corpse'. Just because one does not spend the night flailing about like a grindylow out of water does not mean that he is to be taunted. I happen to find the way I sleep most conducive to rest - except when I am being assaulted in the middle of the night by a epileptic canine.

I would have more to say on the subject, but I am unable to concentrate due to some infernal racket being made out in the Forbidden Forest. Some vile creature insists on shattering the peace of my chambers with its wretched howling and snarling.

Here's to Silencing Spells.

Bonne nuit, Hogwarts.
