(Eek, just realized I hadn't joined this comm with my fandom journal. Just remedied that.)
Keep it open, says I. There are always new cliches to be found, and even those previously mentioned could be expanded upon. Also, I always thought it would be kind of nifty to do cliche compendium posts for each character/pairing/situation.
Can you elaborate on that idea a bit? If there's a template you have in mind I'd like to place it on the user-info as a suggestion for people to use when categorizing a cliche.
Perhaps expanding the tags further to include specific pairings (or maybe just the tag "pairings"...there might not be enough posts on each individual pairing to constitute tags for each), and then a tag for Hogwarts, spells, physical appearance, travel, angst, dating/marriage, sex, habits/behaviors, etc. Just looking at the cliches that fall into each category could reveal overall patterns we hadn't noticed before.
Using these categories, a compendium post could arrange all the cliches that had been posted about a certain character, location, or other aspect. So, for example, the Snape post could have have category subheadings for succinct descriptions of cliches about physical appearance, habits/behaviors, dating/marriage, etc.
Shoot, it makes more sense in my brain than it does as I'm typing it out. And coming up with a whole new set of tags would take some reading through the old posts, but I can definitely help with that if needed.

One interesting ancedotally noted pattern seems to be that Dumbledore-bashing seems to go hand in hand with Weasley bashing, as an example.
