I'm going to tell you a long and complicated story that is an analogy for my life.

There are these two drinks: pink lemonade and blue raspberry. I've always drank (drunken?) pink lemonade because, well, I didn't know I could drink anything else and I didn't drink it often enough to complain, anyway.

But then. Then I had this amazingly good ( Read more... )

Er... Harry? Mate? Are you okay? Falling for drinks is a bit ...

How about a nice, normal glass of pumpkin juice?

Pumpkin juice has nothing to do with anything, guys.

And pink lemonade does?

Pink lemonade and blue raspberry. Those are the only choices. Well, that and not drinking anything at all, but I don't think I could handle that.

Where are you? I'll help you find Madam Pomfrey, it'll be ok.

Oh, ew, Dean. I'm not going anywhere near Madam Pomfrey.

This ain't about drinks, is it Potter?

Maybe if you explained it in Quidditch metaphors it would make actually sense.

Well, it's an analogy so it's not really about drinks, no. I think if I tried to explain it in terms of Quidditch, it'd be even more confusing. And I'm not going let him it my crazy stories ruin Quidditch for me.

Hm. Well, going along with the analogy, if this said non-shiny blue raspberry drink is ignoring you, why play with the drinks games? It seems to me this certain drink is trying to play games with you. If you are still interested in other drinks (such as pink lemonades and other blue raspberry drinks) then why don't you go for it? Obviously the certain non-shiny blue raspberry drink is doing what it wants, so why don't you follow suit?

I have, a little. It just feels like I'm cheating on him and we're not even bloody dating seems wrong to be drinking other drinks when I already know which one I want.

I'm sure it does feel a bit odd to do that, but maybe this thing with the blonde non-shiny blue raspberry drink is just a fling? I mean, there are other blue rasberries and pink lemonades in the sea. Do you still like pink lemonades, anyways?

Yeah, I considered that. I've actually been waiting for my interest to fade. I'm still waiting, actually. And, yeah, I do. It's just, you know. The non-shiny blue raspberry drink is really... um. Good.

I wasn't trying to hide anything. I don't even like pink lemonade.

I don't particularly care if you fancy pink lemonade or not, Potter. Pink lemonade was not the incentive of this statement and you know that.

I don't know anything. Quite obviously I'm stupid. Maybe you should spell it out for me.
