So a few days ago I discovered an Australian film that is being shot in Australia with Australian actors, but is being cast in LA.  Odd, huh?  Perfect for me, though.  I emailed the casting director, saying that I'd like to do the film.  She sent me a copy of the script, and that was that.  On the front page of the script was the email address of ( Read more... )

1.  For the last few days I've been working on the film I've mentioned, which has been fun.  We're shooting in a canyon about an hour out of LA, and so each morning at 6AM I get picked up from my hostel and taken to the set.  I feel like such an actor!  They're long days, twelve hours, but the cast and crew are really nice.  The producer is a bit ( Read more... )

Yes yes yes!  I just got a call from a producer, and I've been cast in a feature film!  Okay, the film is called 'Pirates of Ghost Island' (I'm not kidding), and okay, it's unpaid, but it's actually being released.  At Blockbuster.  And Walmart.  But hey!  It's a film and I'm going to be in it as one of the leads!  I'm feeling optimistic again.

I don't think anything I've said really has been fair to anyone.  I'm perhaps just a little bit fucked up.  Or, as the character breakdown would say, 'damaged'.  There's an Ani line (isn't there always?):

I just want you to understand that I know what all the fighting was for.
And I just want you to understand, that I'm not angry anymore.

On Tuesday night, I caught the Greyhound from San Francisco to Portland, in Oregon, ignoring the advice of the two French guys with whom I was sharing a room.  What can I say?  Portland is beautiful!  I know I say this about all cities, but this one really is!  Very leafy and green, and the people are very laid back and nice.  I've only heard a ( Read more... )

Yesterday (or the day before, maybe?) I felt like I needed a break from LA, so I decided to take a trip up the coast.  I subsequently booked a ticket on the Greyhound, and took the bus up to San Francisco.  After eight hours of sleeping intermittently and eating Pringles, we drove out onto Bay Bridge, I saw the city for the first time ( Read more... )

It appears that I've been cast in a sitcom pilot.  We had a rehearsal yesterday, which went great, and start shooting tomorrow.  It's all very exciting - my first American role!  It looks like I tricked them into thinking I have an American accent, too ( Read more... )
