[Out on the grounds, there is a stag strutting around. He doesn't seem to be terribly afraid of running into humans though. He's more concerned with sticking his face in the gardens to try nibbling various plants, and eating things that have fallen off the trees in the orchard. Prongs also enjoys people-watching, and possibly unnerving people by ( Read more... )

[Oh. My. Gog. Actual prey in Wonderland. It's been months...maybe more than a year...since Nepeta has had the chance to actually hunt food. And here stands this deer, seemingly harmless and feasting on greens.]

Teeheehee!

[She leaps into a nearby bush to...get into character.]

The mighty feline huntress purrs, fur she has finally found prey suitable to feed herself and all of her cubs! She must appurrch it with quiet and clawtion...

[Prongs halts (which is really disappointing, because those greens were delicious) and looks over at the bush curiously. There's definitely someone over there...a cat?]

[This is so much fun!]

Gasp! The hoofbeast senses her subtle movements!

[She turns down the volume. But only a little. The bush continues to rustle.]

Purrhaps a little more quiet and clawtion than anticipated.

[Hoofbeast? He lifts a hoof an- oh, well that answers that question.

The catbeast seems to be talking a lot about what her plans are, so Prongs decides the best course of action is probably to turn and eat some leaves off of the bush she's hiding in. Mmm.]

[Evelyn likes to take walks. The brisk, autumn air is good for clearing one's head of troublesome thoughts. Thoughts like My boyfriend's body is being controlled by a sadistic sentient virus and I wonder if it's going to rain.

So consumed is she by these thoughts that she glances up quickly enough to see that there's a stag standing only seven or so feet away from her.

Evie stares, relaxes, smiles a little wearily.]

Hello there.

[Prongs looks up from the delicious patch of grass he had been eating and stares over at Evelyn. He knows her from when he's human, and remembers that she's friendly. She seems friendly anyway though.

If stags could smile without looking a bit terrifying, he probably would. Instead, he nods at her. It will probably look kind of curious, since he's definitely looking right at her as he nods, but oh well.

Hello there to you too!]

[...it just nodded at her.

Huh.

The animal hardly seems startled, so she takes a few more careful steps forward, astonished by how tame the creature is.]

It's been a stressful week,

[she confides quietly, stopping just a foot or so away. Tentatively, she extends a hand to the stag's face, palm up, and waits for some kind of approval to touch.]

[It really, really has. Prongs knows all about stressful weeks.

He stares for a second, not sure how to communicate that she can touch him. Then, he bows his head down, careful not to smack her with his antlers.

Go ahead; it's okay.]

[While Prongs is over there looking all majestic, Sirius-as-Padfoot is walking around the grounds looking dejected. His ears and tail are drooping, and when he sees Prongs, he lowers his head until it's nearly touching the ground.

Maybe going outside wasn't the best idea after all.]

[Prongs perks his head up and sees Padfoot across the way, looking more depressed than he's ever seen him.

He hesitates at first, not sure if he should approach him...but then decides to do exactly that. He turns and walks in Padfoot's direction, because really there's no better time than now to confront him about all of this, man to man. ...Or, well. Stag to dog.]

[Padfoot keeps his head down, not looking up as Prongs approaches. Yes, venturing outside was a mistake.

He's been keeping to himself since the event ended, and left only because he was starting to go crazy. He isn't the type to run away from things, but this confrontation is one he'd rather not have.]

[Prongs walks right up to Padfoot and stares down at him for a moment. Then, he bends down and nudges Padfoot's forehead with his nose, as if nothing traumatic had happened between them at all. There's no fear of Padfoot growling or biting or attacking. Just a comforting gesture.

Hey. It's okay. Really.]
