(no subject)

I can't fathom being as mediocre and absurd as most of the students and staff at this school. Each day is one filled with the barbarics of Hufflepuffs, the misguided nonsense of Weasleys and the grossly uneducated minions I'm forced to put up with. Honestly, if Mother hadn't insisted upon my going to Hogwarts, I think I'd rather have continued with private tutors for the rest of my life. I imagine that would have been even better than Durmstrang.

But no. Mother insisted. There's also the pesky little fact that no one wanted to tutor for me anymore, but it's not my fault they were all such dunderheads.

Mrs Leavenshire wouldn't stop inquiring about Father. I had to paste her lips shut. It was for the best.

And I didn't mean to turn Mrs Travers into an ant. I'd meant to turn her into an anteater. You can't really expect a seven-year-old to have perfect transfiguration skills.

Then, of course, there was Mrs Macnair, who for some unknown reason thought that I would like to own a puffskein. Why would I want to own such a creature? I'd forgotten her husband was the Executioner. He chased me all over the grounds of the Manor with his stupid axe once he discovered I'd stuffed the puffskein up his wife's robes. It's not my fault that puffskeins have such active tongues.

Getting back on track, Professor Snape contacted Father in regards to the ridiculous Cannons match. I hardly expected him to take me seriously. He should have known that Father is far too busy to deal with such inconsequential matters, and I'm rather annoyed that he was forced to.

Nonetheless, Father seemed to think that I was covering up for Potter. As I said, if Potter was at that match, I have no idea. I have no reason to say anything otherwise about the matter. I'm certain that My Father will understand that, though I can't imagine why he thought differently even for a moment.

Of course, Professor Snape more than likely had a hand there. It appears that the professor is so caught up in thinking that everyone is for Potter and consequently against him that his paranoia has led him to suspect everything and everyone, including his star pupil.

But I will not take this lying down. Father seems satisfied in thinking that I was trying to extort Weasley, though honestly, what on earth could I get from a Weasley? Has he forgotten about the fact that they have nothing?

Oh. Wait. I can't say they have nothing -- after all, they have inferiority.

In any case, I'll just make it clear, once again, that I have no idea what anyone is talking about on the matter of Potter sneaking out to the Quidditch match. The boy is not my responsibility.
