here by way of daily_snitch, and done this before for christmas and as a post-card exchange and think valentines would be fun cause of the shippy aspect. (Though will participants get a say in what ships they won't write?)
You can definitely choose who the card YOU get should be from, and to whom it should be addressed (Ron to Hermione is possible as well as Sirius to Yourself), slash or het, that's up to you.
For the cards you get assigned to write, you will be able to choose your fandom, and your preferred characters (the more the easier for me to match people up).
Your question makes sense, and I'm going to add a box where you can tell me the pairings you don't want to write.
I hope that covers everything - if you have further suggestions, just go ahead :)!
It would be nice to send a card to the same person who writes one for you, but I wouldn't want to make your life difficult. Maybe it could be a goal, but not a requirement?
I think that you should do whatever's easier for you, regarding who gets what card -- but I think it would be awesome if I got a card from the person I sent one to. And, also, I LOVE the international idea!
That sounds like a really neat idea! I think sending a card to the person you're receiving one from is the least complicated way to do this. It'd be really exciting if there were a ton of people involved.
I think so too (and the posters above me as well).
I hope many more people are going to join; if you have any ideas how to advertise this further: just go ahead :)! The Holiday Card Exchmage had about 100 Harry Potter participants!!
The way I see it working, for whatever reason, is you'd assign each of us members a character. Each member/character requests who they'd like a Valentine from and then you have the member with that character send the card.
Of course I haven't thought out if it'd be equal, but perhaps if each character lists, persay, three characters then you can option it out even.
You could also then give out a heterosexual and a homosexual variety of each character so nobody gets offended.
No, I think I want to do it the difficult way :)...
Everybody can choose the character/pairing they like to receive, even if it's a very specific request. To make this work, there will be more leeway with the choice of what to write - you'll have to list more than two characters who are ok for you. And there will be a ticky box for slash/non-slash as well as a text box for "pairings I'll never write".
I hope it will work out this way - I just think it is more fun if you are able to request exactly what you want :)!

I'll see how it turns out, but I'll remember you and pair you up with only one person, ok :)?
