I decided to start the sign-up a bit earlier to give you all a little more time...
Nevertheless, the deadline is still the same: January 22nd 2006 .
How does this work?
1. Fill out the poll.
2. Around January 25th you'll get an email with your partner's address and wishes.
3. Write/Draw/Put together a nice card for your partner, put it in an envelope and send it off. The more creative, the better! E-cards are not allowed, of course.
4. Receive your own card.
All cards should reach their destinations on February 14th at the latest. Because your partner may live on another continent, please send them off in time!
And I hope it's ok if we set the rating to PG-13; you will be able to specify if you're ok with writing slashy cards or not.
I'd like to explain the poll in detail (if you're already bored, please skip this :)!):
Please answer the question in the poll below; the poll is set on "results viewable to none", so I am the only person who can see your real name and address here; the only other person who will get to know your data will be your partner.
The first two questions are self-explanatory: I need your Email address to send you your assignment, and your mailing address for your partner.
For the card you'll RECEIVE: To whom should the card you receive be addressed (HP character or your real name or your fandom name)?
For example: Lupin, the Giant Squid, or You (insert your name here).
One name will be enough; if you want to, you can write more than one though and let your partner choose; or you can write "please surprise me", then it's completely up to her/him.
From whom should the card you receive be (HP character)?
Again, one name is enough, but it's really up to you. If you choose multiple names, please include the pairings here, for example Lupin/Tonks or You/any Marauder.
(Sounds complicated? I'm sorry... When in doubt, explain yourself in the next step.)
Any special wishes for the card you'll receive?
For example: If you chose Harry/Snape above, you can clarify here: "I want Snape to be his usual, snarky self and to give Harry detention via this card."
Or something like that.
For the card you'll SEND: List at least 3 HP characters (in order of preference) you'd like to write a card from:
I need a lot of leeway with the sender to pair you all up, so this is not going to be very specific. If somebody requests a very unusual character, you might get to write somebody you didn't wish for. Sorry for that, but I'll try to make everybody happy!
Oh, and it's perfectly ok to write "I don't care", that makes it easier for me :).
I am willing to write cards of the following pairings (tick as many boxes as you want :)):
This is a ticky-box question. Again, nobody here can see your answers, although the percentages will be visible. Please tell me what you are comfortable with; Harry/Snape may be pretty famous in the fandom, but it is a teacher/student relationship nevertheless, and many people don't like to write it.
But you know, everything should be kept PG-13 anyway, just sweet harmless Valentine's Day cards...
Please tell me what specific characters/pairings (if any) you absolutely DON'T want to write:
