(I've been sleeping until 4 pm lately and spending the rest of the day thinking about how good life would be if "Growing Pains" was still on air. So I hope you will excuse me for this rant's lateness

on weekends my parents go out to chinatown to buy groceries for the week. most of the time i go along with them because they take it as a personal offense if i say, "i don't feel like going out..." there's a meat market on elizabeth street between hester and grand that's crowded most of the time so i usually opt to stay outside with the grocery bags. when i get bored waiting i usually do this experiment of holding the doors for people to go in and out and see how many people will actually thank you. no chinese person ever says thank you. only non-chinese people. don't we have the best manners in the world?
oh and i think you should've just stepped on the people who gave you looks.
