POW and TTC

POW (Prisoner of Work)I am alive; I swear it. I know that I have been really, really, really, REALLY bad about stopping by LJ, even for drive-by updates. (But thanks to those of you who have been checking in on me!) I don't even want to think about how many Friend-posts I have to go through. *shudder* If you have anything exciting going on, ( Read more... )

Great to hear from you!!! LOL on the "unofficially" ttc - I don't think you *can* unofficially ttc, heheh. Funny, but congrats on that! Glad to hear you're friend is doing well and that work, although utterly batty, is also all good!

Heh heh. So the "see what happens" isn't unofficial? Drats. ;)

Yay, you're back! I missed you!

Want to know a secret? So are we. Unofficially as well. But I refuse to use those initials because it reminds me of those bitchy chicks at SBC, TTC. Well, they weren't all bitchy, but I had a roommate who was.

I'll add you to my filter on the topic. But it's the uber-double-secret filter and only comment about it on posts that are specifically on that topic, because almost no one knows and we don't want to tell because... pressure!

I missed you, too!

OMG, I had completely forgotten about the TTC tap club! I have to admit that those girls always scared me. One of my ex-roomies was a TTCer, too. Scary woman.

Yay for you...um, trying, too! We're just going with the flow for the next few months and won't really try too hard until the end of the year, when I'll start charting. No pressure right now, but in a few months I'll probably start to feel it!

I started charting right after the wedding, wanting to go off birth control. Then after about a month we decided hey, why not now? (Actually, he started saying that right after the wedding; it took about a month for me to believe that he wasn't kidding.) So I'm still charting, but with sort of the opposite purpose. We're not trying too hard yet... we may get more serious about it in a few months.

And as to pressure... I just don't like certain people (cough*inlaws*cough) asking me about certain things that I can't control. I almost lost my mind when I took the VA Bar last summer and every time they called they wanted to know if I'd passed. That kind of pressure. I think on this topic it would be even worse... because they REALLY want grandkids and are both overinclined to ask really personal questions I'd rather not answer.

Brent's sort of always followed my lead when it comes to "scheduling" things. I'm completely anal about having things in order, and I had put together a timeline. He humors me. The original timeline had us TTC in November. Then I pushed it back to June 2007. But my clock has been ticking for the past couple of months. So we talked about the possibility of trying sooner rather than later. He was like "I really want kids. I've just been waiting for you."

I'm *not* mentioning anything about TTC to my in-laws. No way Jose.

I hope things slow down for me, too! Hopefully just one more trip to San Fran this summer and that will be it.

How about you? Are you still traveling like crazy? And how's the house!?!?! I need to stop by your journal for updates!

Julie was telling me about your travel schedule -- it sounds absolutely grueling! Hurrah on this being your last work trip for at least a month, though.

Sounds to me like what you really need is just a couple of weeks of sitting at home and doing nothing! Or at least a couple of weekends of such...

Oh, you have no idea. Brent actually had to work for me at Georgetown last weekend because I was busy doing server maintenance. What should have taken me three hours actually took...{dramatic pause}...25.5 hours. I got zero sleep Saturday night. Two hours Sunday night. And then was on a plane to Chicago at 6:00 Monday morning. Yeah, that was fun.

Two weeks doing nothing sounds like such bliss!!!!!

I'm glad to be back! :)

Yeah, it's much better to be gone for a good-busy reason than a bad-busy or something-wrong reason. Fortunately, that is not the case!

But OMG, I have *so* much to catch up on in everyones' journals. I'm a little overwhelmed by the thought of reading two months' worth of entries. :) I guess gregmce's suggestion of taking two weeks off and doing nothing can be filled with journal reading!
