Really well done. :)

(Uh, well, my perception of Merlin's character is based on how quickly he seems to accept/befriend/try to protect people. It's almost like it's instinctive for him.)

I think when I began writing it, I was certain Merlin was going to turn up at the end, just because...I couldn't be that cruel to Gwaine. He's too pretty, you know? ;D

I really love the way you wrote Merlin, so hopeful and unafraid (this line sums him up perfectly: Merlin, who falls in love with everything the world can give him) and Gwaine, so much more world-weary and sad and yet wiling to have Merlin infect him with his liveliness. Your writing is so rich, like the little details don't draw attention until your half a sentence past them.
And the ending is adorable. I love it :D.

I was pretty proud of that line, so I'm glad you liked it. I think I already mentioned this to someone else, but I based my idea of Merlin on the way he seems to instinctively help people, like he can't stop himself. And the way it seems like he looks so happy once he's managed it. Gwaine -- is just wonderfully cynical. :D

R-really? That's one of the nicest compliments I've ever had ever. So thank you! ♥ Well, I'm going to go blush and stare at my feet some more now, haha. I'm extremely happy you liked it! (and OMG YOUR ICON! *.*)

I also happen to have seriously bought into the whole Gwaine/Merlin thing.
OMG I THINK MAYBE EVERYONE DID. :D :D :D Literally, I bought Vol. One of Series Three the other day, my excuse being Gwaine's in episode four. No joke. Also, there's the slight nostalgia of the Gwaine episode being the first Merlin episode I officially watched. Maybe that's why I'm so attached to the guy...
