Dreams are things that defy meaning.

I found myself walking down one street in the cold night of winter. I
had just left Satan's place, his house lays on a side street to this
one. My vision was granted by the full moon above and the occasional
street light along one of the cities main streets. The occasional car
would drive by and be a fellow companion on this road till it disappeared
beyond the horizon. It was quiet, too quiet. My ears would strain to
pick up any sense of noise in the cold atmosphere. Only the strain of the
winds gave my ears any clue if they were functioning. Half the town I
walked through. Past the barren intersections, past stores, golf courses,
strip centers, and schools till I made it to city limits miles from where
I begain.

I came to the lake again, the same lake I dreamed before. It was familiar
yet alien. Everything seemed abanded but well kept. The store at the
base of the dam was full of supplies yet no people. The lights flickered
as I walked through it. Out of frustration, fear and anger, I begain to
trash the store. Pushing entire shelves of goods to the floor, throwing
containers into the glass doors of the store refrigerators, and kicking
down anything that remained standing. It felt good. It felt guilty. I
had no idea why I was alone. Maybe damage would cause some one to appear,
but no one came to investigate the noise.

I walked outside of the store and looked up at the dam strected from one
edge to the other in my vision. I don't know if I walked, flew or
teleported, but I was then on the other side of the earth mound dam. I
was standing upon loose stone at the water's edge. The night was cold
with a thin blanket of snow over most objects; the lake itself had not
frozen over however. I stepped out over the lake. Instead of breaking
the water's surface, I was standing on a small platform of ice. Every
step I took, ice formed below my feet. I managed to make it to the center
of the lake before collapsing to my knees. All the water in the lake
begain to slowly crystalize around me. The crackling of ice echoed in the
air. The temperature seems to drop further below the freezing point. I
stood up and a heat wave surrounded me. Then it happened.

A pillar of light came up from below and engulfed me in its brightness.
It felt so warm, so calm, so peaceful. Winds swirled and danced around
me. I was lifted up into the air by an unknown force. I floated in
the air surround by bright light for several minutes. I discovered
the source - it was me. Then the tranquelity ended as my body came
crashing down. I was in a crater where the lake used to be. The bottom
of the crater was partially muddy with all the water vaporized. My body
was in shreds and in several pieces. I was disconnected physically from a
limb or two but I could still feel it yards away. Some how the physical
distance didn't matter, my mind overrided the physical plane that I could
feel and see. I became whole once again. I was the same and yet
different.

Myself awareness made its way into my conciousness. The huge pillar of
light, I created. The crater that I was standing in was caused by
my actions. I could sense the world around me for miles it seemed. Every
broken window, every roof blown off, every crying baby and every once of
confusion the people of my town felt, I could feel as well. It was
empowering yet fear envoking from the abilities that I had.

I walked across the earthy surface of the crater, over the spot of the
dam, and back into town. I was not alone anymore, I could sense the fear
and hatred towards me.

Then I awoke from the dream.
