Norrin scours Mutant Town in an ever increasing spiral, his senses expanded to detect either the raven-haired young man or his shockwave blasts. He swoops briefly into the Nexus to ask if others have seen him, and then returns to the trail.

*Ric looks exhausted, covered with grime and dust from his constant rubble-clearing, and blood from the injured and the attackers. He hasn't slept in three days, or eaten, much, but he keeps himself going by telling himself how lucky he is. How many of these people whose faces he may not know, but whose trials he does, wander hopelessly towards him with their lives broken in front of them.

Jono, tubes running in and out of him, his fire gone. Warren, unable to walk or see, missing two limbs his brain still insists are there. Bobby, grateful for flesh again, but always confused by ambient temperature. Tom, without heat, with strips of plant life still interspersed with his skin. Somwhere out there Pietro, no longer running, seeing the world go past him at superspeed.

What else can he do? What has is power ever been good for, except destruction? So he destroys, to help. What he can.

He misses 'Star.*

Silver Surfer? Que pasa? Heard you were looking for me.

"Rictor! At last I find you!"

What to say? How do I explain the madness that overwhelms his friend? The madness I inspired, through my ignorance, by taking up his cause?

With an air of guarded sympathy, the silver alien faces the weary mutant.

"Your friend, Shatterstar, is in need of you. You need not fear for his safety. Samuel is with him, but he asked for you. Will you come?"

"Yeah, of course, I've been missing--"

What the mirrored dude actually said finally sunk in past his mental haze. 'Star. In need. Asked for him.

Oh, shit.

"What's wrong? What happened? Was it Mojo again? What happened to him??"

The earth starts to shake.

"Be calm, Rictor! He is physically unharmed." Norrin raises one hand to appease the suddenly volatile young man.

Samuel said he would be erratic. I must tread carefully.

"Mojo was involved, but only insofar as it was the discussion of him that led him to his current state. He has had an encounter with one known as Spiral, and is much demoralised."

He gestures and the shining board lowers to the ground next to them both.

"I will explain more on the way, if you give me your assurance you will not act rashly."
