I agree with you about people being "too sensitive" in society, especially nowadays with racial barriers, sex (male-female differences and equality, sexual orientations and even our own right to freedom of speech.

A couple of weeks ago, I read parts of a book that dealt with the sensitivity issue and how everybody wanted to be a victim of some sort. Very interesting reading. It's called-
