I'm assuming that there's one fridge and kimchi doesn't really need to be refridgerated anyway. Short of picking up something like this I suspect that there isn't really a polite way of pointing out that her stuff is stinking up the place.

Is there a landlord that could wander by and point out the "aroma"?

My sympathy! I'm SO not a kimchi fan. Blech. Could she maybe just keep it in an airtight container and possibly in the fridge?

FWIW we got an airfilter- HEPA thingy at work for the break room. It really does help with smells; might be worth looking into. We actually got it for dust but surprisingly good at filtering out people's microwaved fish!
