Who Wants to Show Nova Around?!

Nova walked as slow as she possibly could, not sure if she wanted to be going this way but determined to move further so as not to waste the time she had already spent on it. Kitty had been practicing outside and was heading to go into the school when she heard a voice behind her. Turning around she spotted someone waving over at the gates. She walked over to them.

"Yep this sure is. I'll bet you want to come in." Kitty opened the gate to let the girl in and smiled.

"Hey. I'm Katherine Pryde, or Kitty for short." She said holding out her hand.

Nova smiled and took Kitty's hand. "Nice to meet you, Kitty! My name's Nova. I'm so happy I finally got here! This is going to sound like a really odd question, but do you happen to have any high voltage items around here? Security systems? Any above ground wires of some sort? I usually blow that sort of stuff up if I'm within a few feet of it. On the off chance I do blow something up I ask that you get far far away from me so there's no chance of me hurting you," Nova asked rather bluntly.

"Not offhand, but I wouldn't recommend going to the Danger Room, if its as bad as you say it is. I'm sure the Professor will think of something." Kitty said reassuringly as she released the girls hand.

"Come on. I'll sure you around."

Nova nodded at Kitty's reassuring words. "Thank you." She followed Kitty up closer to the mansion and she realized how big it actually was. There was also no doubt that this was a school for mutants; there was no shortage of extra appendages, odd skin colors and/or tails. "So... If you don't mind me asking what's your power, Kitty?"
