Yeah, like being imperfect makes him so much more interesting, right?!

It's great also because Marcus is supposed to be this epitome of Roman *perfection*, both physical and in terms of character, but he's equally flawed, just in different, more hidden places (which are partially expressed as his leg wound) :)

Hmm, I think the level of his flaws depends whether we go with the bookverse or the movieverse, cause he is much more aware of his own flaws in the book and he's much more capable of working around them, but I remember that when I first watched the movie I just thought he was an absolute twat. Like the drive to be the perfect Roman turned him into a rather shitty human being. And it's beautiful to see him so flawed but with the capacity for change and development.

I'll go with the movie, for obvious reasons - there he expects the perfection from himself, and that's what dives him for the most part. And the physical perfection of Channing doesn't hurt this vision :D

And definitely, striving for Roman perfection makes him worse, but part of his emotional development is accepting the fact that there are different ideals to be realized and they are all equally valuable and respect-worthy :)

Well, he is all serious and brooding without balancing it with any semblance of emotional distance or humor, but the last scene makes up for it, I think :)

Fuck, he does. And he bares his throat so prettily.
