Lavender was making her way back from the Owlery when she spotted the Slytherin walking toward her.

Her first instinct was to change her path so she wouldn't have to come close enough to see the girl's face, but at the last moment she changed her mind.

Straightening her back and walking with confidence she walked right by Pansy, "Hi Pansy," she said in as friendly of voice as possible.

"Goodbye," Pansy replied curtly, not bothering to take a good look at the girl. She recognized her as a Gryffindor and not someone who merited much of her time. Cormac had already filled her Gryffindor quota for the month.

Pansy could only deal with so much in such a sort amount of time.

She walked straight on past the girl, not expecting much more than some pathetic comment back.

Lavender stopped in her tracks and turned to look at the girl, "I know that you don't like me because of which house I'm from, but that doesn't mean you can't pretend to be nice."

She didn't expect a response back. It was enough that she just said that outright. So without waiting for a reply she turned and headed back toward the castle.
