Just checked the wikipedia entry for niacin. Interesting stuff. I take a generic men's multivitamin which includes 16mg of niacin, but not high-dose supplements. Since this whole thing started with pins-and-needles at 5:30 am, I'm not wild about "flushing". But I'll keep it in mind.

I feel so guilty. I need to get in shape before my body tells me it's time to get in shape.

I'm not really "getting in shape", per se. I haven't lost any weight or inches. I've got a little more stamina now, but after three miles today, I was worn out, so it's not like I'm bragging about my fitness or anything. If this actually felt like exercise, I'd have long since given up on it.

The trick is definitely to find activities that don't seem like work. Maybe walk a half-mile in the evenings, or bike a mile. A lot of our neighbors have dogs, so their exercise coincides with the nightly dog walk. And those with kids seem to enjoy pushing the little ones down the block in a stroller...
