Every Journal Has a YOU, a You the Writer Writes To (and you're it this time...)

Goddamit  Ani...  I tried to end a comment to the last entry with a quote from Ani Difranco, but now her words, and her voice, won’t   let    me      go.     The song is Dilate.  Listen to it.

Every song has a you
A you that the singer sings to
And you’re it this time
Baby, you’re it this time

Do you have an “audience” in mind when you update ( Read more... )

and when i saw you sucked my brains out
the english translation
is 'i am in love with you, and it is no fun'
but i don't use words like love,
because words like that don't matter
don't look so offended,
you know you should be flattered

i love ani. :)

I just want you to live up to
the image of you I created
I see you and I'm so unsatisfied
I see you and I DILATE!

She sucks my brains out.
*sigh*

do you have many songs by her?

and, more importantly, would you like any? :)

I'm pretty sure I have just about everything she's ever done, even the lp's and utah phillips discs. She's the one artist I make a point to pay for the cd, and always directly from righteous babe. I think I may have lost a few discs to convertees and exes over time though. If so, it's good karma.

Greatest live shows ever too. I've seen her 6-7 times and she sucks my brain out everytime.

Thanks for the offer. If there's anything you don't have let me know and I'll try to hook you up(load).

Did you (or maybe it was someone else?) have an update a while back where you opened it up and mentioned that friends only wasn't really working for you? I was curious how so?

I haven't limited or locked any yet, but I'm sure the time will come. I enjoy the trying to write semi-discreetly, yet ambiguously revealing. Whatever the fuck that means.

That makes perfect sense for an LJ security-level-philosophy. It works in real life too. Generally open, but establishing boundaries as needed.

And I agree about meeting interesting peeps here.

Why does it seem she has me pegged, and that I do indeed think her songs are about me LOL! My personal favorite ( ... )

*sigh* Joyful Girl. She put out an lp that was just versions of it--"More Joy, Less Shame." If you don't have it, let me know, and I'll either upload it, or burn you a copy.

I did the party-of-one super-filter for you in pics here. I think I only put one or two pics in so far. I'm not a big fan of pics of myself, because like Ani said "i don't take good pictures cuz i have the kind of beauty that moves"

Humm...was there supposed to be a link there for pics? I actually don't have that lp, but it sounds yummy!

I think if you go to user info, then public images, then open "view" on left, then "recently updated" and there should be pics that (I hope) only you can open. I put them up in response to your previous inquiry about my dangerously mysterious identity ;)

I'll burn you a copy of MJLS. I would upload it, but for some reason (noob?)I'm having trouble figuring out how to get usendit to deal with a whole cd instead of just individual tracks...

My paper journals are for me, and me only. That doesn't mean that they contain super-secret confidential, could-get-me-arrested information. But it's for me... and at this point, probably THE only thing that I can call 100% my own ( ... )

So interesting how you/we evolve with writing. Some people would say, "Well you would evolve all the same without the writing..." but they'd be wrong, wouldn't they?. The journaling facilitates the evolution.

Hey, best of luck with your "formal" edumacation and upcoming auditions too.
