Man I just got an amazing price on a dedicated server in Chicago. Im sharing this with you, the internets because it seems appropriate. I've had mixed results with various datacenters promises around this United States, but I am being hopeful. Hmmm, Fedora Core or CentOS, well it kind of depends on what you intend to use it for. Basically they will have the same amount of support for hardware etc, but CentOS can also come with some of the "special" Enterprise Linux stuff that Red Hat writes and provides the source RPMS for. Fedora will not contain them (unless you do a hack job to insert them yourself). I used to use Fedora for playground stuff and CentOS for real server work. I teach two college courses on Linux system administration and I make the students use Fedora (although Fedora 5 and 6 have been weak releases IMHO). Now a days I just use Debian since I work in a full Debian environment.
