What is up with me?  Why can't I just come to one, logical conclusion?  No matter what I do

Take a day off Phil. Seriously. Use it for studying, praying, w/e, but take a day off from the flute. I swear you're going to drive yourself insane if you don't. If you ever want a real live person to talk to, I'll be there, five days a week, for a whole forty-five uninterrupted minutes of Phil time!
