Epiphany at 4am

So I was driving home from my best friend's house after a night of heavy beading.  Got 5 sets done, probably won't sell a single one anytime soon, but I had some good quality girl time, so I'm a happy camper.  On the way home, I was listening to the radio and for once in my life I actually listened to the lyrics of the song.  I'm usually so ( Read more... )

I agree, that's such an awesome song with a powerful message. I'm 100% a GLBT ally and I believe everyone should be able to have a relationship with whoever they want to, not what society says you should do. I'm a child of the 1980s and where I went to school being openly gay or lesbian was unacceptable. One lesbian tried to bring her girlfriend to prom and the school wouldn't allow it. I've always been sensitive to the GLBT community and all the crap they have taken because growing up, I was socially awkward and I was bullied. I had a gay classmate in my homeroom in high school for 3 years who kept getting bullied for being gay and I stuck up for him. In hindsight I wonder why I didn't ask him out. To this day we're still friends.

Anyway, thanks for posting this! Kids today need to listen to the message.
