Virgil would probably do this via the normal way (using his brain) or the metahuman way (using his electricity powers). Mainly, for the time being, he'll be looking for any info in the ship's logs to tell them what's going on or maybe information about the crew. As for what door he's trying to get into, Nymta suggested the officer rooms while he was thinking getting into the medical bay.
Medical bay is currently under system lockdown so that nothing short of a very specially calibrated bomb would open the doors.
Should you attempt the officer rooms, if you go for several hours on one of the smaller doors with a combo of electricity and lightsabers (although the beginning results would be encouraging as it actually gets damaged unlike other doors), you may find access to the pilot's room, or what looks like an exploded toy store of little girls' dolls and fabrics.
The room is small, but has an actual bed and shelves of books containing exceptionally cheesy romance novels and then ones on aerodynamics on space and advanced theories on molecular physiology evolution of interstellar travel. The computer within (holographic) will be completely locked down.
Also, since the only way to open that door was to destroy it, that door won't close again, much less lock.
I asked this on the FAQ page but that might have been the wrong place. Rose has organized a bunch of people who want to go EVA and clear debris here, but that is a thing that needs permission and information. She's got people (or skills herself) to get suits checked inside, check them for leaks and air supply, and she could blow a door open if she wanted to -- her magic can do that -- but she'd rather convince the ship to open a door.
We have asked in the FAQ section that all skills pertaining to fixing or escaping the ship be toned down, and as a general rule doors will not open for anyone or anything unless they were faulty in the first place, especially with the locks sealed shut to prevent the atmosphere of the ship from being sucked out into the vacuum and pull of the black hole.
It's more for plot purposes than anything else, as blasting a hole in the door of the escape pod room would destroy everything inside the ship within minutes, and people much sooner. As such, should a door be blasted open, the room connected would be sealed by the computer in seconds to save the rest of the ship and it would learn to take more precaution as a (nearly) sentient ship trying to keep its passengers safe.
However! As the ship will refuse to open the door under any circumstances, you are more than welcome to do that should Rose's magic really be able to blast open a door that way! (And doors require more than just force, as we provided Virgil-mun with a method of

I guess I didn't see it as escaping, since they're not going to leave the vicinity of the ship, but obviously I don't know what the overarching plot is. Sorry about that. I thought that really referred to being able to either move the entire ship, or powers that could zap everyone away somewhere, etc. Rose is nothing a few pounds of explosives couldn't do, though she's going to try to avoid the brute force solution as much as possible, at least at first. (She'd be more likely to pick a small room on the exterior and hack the hull that blow a door, but that's a minor point.)
I was hoping the whole idea could let non-engineering characters help with repairs, since the engineering crew isn't going to talk to non-technical folks. It wouldn't have to be Rose finding anything interesting -- just having her meet people is plenty.
I was basing suits availability on articletwelve's IC comment -- I assumed the player had permission -- she wouldn't be blasting until her party had suits on. I'll try to figure this out when I'm not at work.

It's no problem at all (we just didn't really have time to sign on to this account yesterday)! We encourage plots of all sorts and we're here to help players work their ideas into the central plot, after all!
It's great that you came to us with the question so that we could give you the specs on what would happen with what. We may yet do an in-game daily sign-ups to help people coordinate with what's going on starting day 3. It might help us answer questions easier as well with everything situated within one post. Nothing is completely impossible on this ship, as a very specially made bomb would be able to blast through the doors the first time

I'd like to sign Kaylee up for something. I think she'd be able to open up a locked door or something with her skills. Or she'd be able to fix something that's broken.
Ah, I finally have time, so I thought I'd initiate a discussion here. :)
Until the end of Day 4, Maddy will continue to be...exploring in vapor form, basically floating through wherever she can...but she has gotten lost. I think she'd have started in the rec room (leaving the clothes she got from Rosalie behind a sofa) and went on from there, traveling through any kind of air venting system the ship has.
So! The basics of this post are: Where, exactly, will she be able to go and what, exactly, would she be able to find?
Vents are a very bad idea on vapor form, and she may be able to feel that the moment she seeps into the air ducts, as there are bio-scrubbers that target anything that's not oxygen to keep the air clean. Same with service hatches. As this is a spaceship, all doors also seal airtight in case of... anything.
If you don't mind her getting lost in the fact that she was chased by the scrubbers through the vents, she would end up somewhere in the engineering section!
Riddick's going to be following ghosts around all day, watching what they do and whether they interact with each other, trying to see what he can find out about them. Will he be able to find out anything about the ship or past events in this manner? :)
The 'ghosts' are here to fix the areas of the ship that the limited self-repair systems can't get to. They are tangible when they choose to be, able to lift items and connect wires and other things.
As the day goes on, more details of them are seen-- they're wearing a strange kind of uniform that almost looks as it's made out of metal. They don't really have personalities, but he can trace them back to the opened lab.
