Saw True Grit again the other day. That movie only gets better the more you see it. I don't think there could have been anyone better suited to play the pompous Texas Ranger, LaBoeuf than Matt Damon ( Read more... )

At the beginning of the movie, everyone talks pretty much how you'd expect people in a western to talk. Mattie speaking a good deal smarter than the rest, because she's a smarty-pants like that. But as the movie progresses, the way people speak changes. The most notable way is that they stop using contractions. I just wonder if there is some meaning behind this.

I think you just notice the do not's and can not's more because the rest of the speech becomes less proper.

Your like the 3rd friend who has recomended this movie. I will have to see it, if nothing else as a free movie with my dad since he likes westerns.

Something tells me following the movie would be a Red Dead Redemption marathon on the 360....
