Sounds like they didn't get beat well enough by their parents. It seems like a growing problem in many countries, not just the U.K. and U.S., that kids are being brought up without any sort of respect for others, much less themselves. It's pretty difficult to react to things well when your brain is so under developed, thanks to some crappy parenting and social rearing, that things that aren't like you make you feel threatened and angry.
