Ok, I'm getting nervous. For awhile, I've been numb to the realm that at the end of the summer my life will actually become one I lead single-handedly and it is scaring the shit out of me. The prospect of starting fresh and building a life of my own is something I really look forward to....I just wish I could skip all the awkward moments, lonely

oh i know the feeling. leaving college was both exciting and scarey as hell. college left me with two very close but very distant friends. me in NJ. one friend is in CT and the other in MA. yeah, its pretty hard. i see Missy (CT) about 3X a year and Jenn (MA)about once a year. but we remain as close as we can be. i know if they were in NJ, id be less lonely. i have friends here but i miss them a lot. but we work at staying in touch as much as possible.

there's one friend in MA *Chris* who i wish i coulda kept in touch with. but we just lost touch. in college, we were close friends. i miss him a lot. but the distance did not withstand our friendship. it happens.

it is a transition. but a good one. i stepped right into the working world and made some friendships there. no doubt, its difficult. but change is good.

you shall be fine. but yes, tis overwhelming.

i know what you mean, I am heading off to college in four weeks and all my friends are somewhat scattered too. I think there is one of my friends, danielle that is within a 60 mile radius of me. many of them are 4-6 hours away. i even lost one of my best friends in a car wreck a month ago. its hard to let go to something you thought was strong, or something that was really strong.

Sorry to hear about Ryan. I'm not going to throw cliche's your way, because I know they didn't help when I was in a similar position. From what I have read in your journal I can honestly say that you'll assimilate well...we both will!

it was just hard to believe that life throws this bullshit at people. I know I have a lot in my life to be thankful for but a lot of messed up stuff had happened this year in my life, and I dont know why that had to happen. I know as well that you have had a lot of hardships, but hopefully we'll both conquer everything that comes our way, and somehow learn from it all.
