Because I'm really not sure. This morning in my online wanderings, I discovered that Wikipedia is not the only online encyclopedia of its kind. (That's probably not that hard to believe.) Are you saying that you've never heard the word "founded", or that you think it's a vague description of the founding of the nation to say that it happened only in 1867?

I'm saying that it's a vague and meaningless description. Canada as a country is a concept that evolved over time. I would even say that the word "founded" is inaccurate.
