I'm beginning to think peace is something we made up to keep us from being satisfied with all this luscious chaos

In truth, I've found much greater peace in embracing all the luscious chaos than in trying to deny it or control it, so it works out well. Every once in a while I do manage to remember that I don't have to be in charge of everything. *
