Photoshop

I've been spending lots of my free time working with Photoshop lately. I'm still learning the basics, but it's so much fun! Here's a before and after of one of our wedding pictures. Tell me what you think.

not too bad. using the clone and rubber stamp tools or the repair brush for the grass there ?

what i find fun is desaturating certain elements of a picture, or altering the focus based upon colour values, things like that.

Oh yeah, I have tons of fun playing around with desaturate. For the picture above, I used the clone tool to get rid of the extra people and objects. I also used it to fix the area of grass that didn't exist. So basically, it's the only tool I used on this picture other than shadow/highlight and the color level tools.

I'd love to see before and after pictures of something you've worked on! Maybe you could come over for dinner sometime. Brendon has missed you a lot. We're both free on Sundays if that works for you. Give us a call.

i know somewhere (either in my car or at my parents) i have various photoshop books which i could let you borrow which have all kinds of tricks in them and various techniques. for some reason i never seriously jumped into them... i dunno why.

Actually, I just borrowed a book from Ishon, but I'd still be interested in seeing what you have. Maybe the reason you never really got into the books is that it's so much more fun to just play around with it to learn new things...I know that's how I am. Anyway, we'll definitely have to work something out. You haven't been here in forever!
