So have you seen the movie yet?! I'm really interested to hear what you think (hence my coming over here to check if you had posted yet!). I hate the book, but I actually really enjoyed the movie! :) I even thought the H/G was kind of nice....especially with this beautiful music playing during their kiss scene:

As for your Radcliffe quote...well, whatever, as long as they keep the Horcrux kiss in there between Dan and Emma as well! because all ships aside those two have so much chemistry I NEED to see them kiss! :p

Nope, haven't seen it yet, and I'm not in a hurry. ;-)
I must admit I've never seen any real chemistry between Dan and Emma (or any of the cast, to be truthful), just chumminess, but not real sexual chemistry. I have whole big theories about this that are too long to bring here (but they include for example the fact that Dan and Emma are from similar social backgrounds, which still is something of a big deal in England). Still, I have no doubt that the H/Hr kiss will be there - it simply can't NOT be after all the shenanigans of Kloves & Co. ;-)

Hmm, well I don't think that the social class thing is that relevant since I was not aware of it (and I think that most Americans aren't, let alone just those who think D/E have chemistry).....but I suppose we would just have to agree to disagree about the chemistry, as with so many other issues, since I do realize that perception of chemistry varies! :)

I also can now say though that my perception of chemistry is not necessarily just a product of shipping their characters--since I despise the pairing of Edward/Bella, yet think that the actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have lots of chemistry together on-screen and off! ;) (Did you ever see that movie either, btw?)

I do think social class plays a role in that both Daniel and Emma are from rather well-to-do middle-class families while Rupert is from a more working class family. D & E thus have more of a common ground together, not to mention they're both clearly very smart kids w. similar values, and imo all that helped them bond.

Yep, I saw the Twilight movie and mentioned it in an entry: http://praize.livejournal.com/58791.html
