I do the whole writing process you have a lot.
Come up with a brilliant, intricate, carefully thought out plan for thing.
Once at the drawing board (or Microsoft Word.) immediately abandon all plans and write up something completely different on the spot.
At least it worked out for me most of the time.
Looks like it works well for you too.
