Yeah, I have a lot of scattered thoughts on that movie. Mostly I really enjoyed the way the camera's wandering nature made it all feel like home movies. I'm a fan of this technique and how it builds groups of characters all at once by catching incidental action (like Friday Night Lights!). That said, this movie was not the best for sure. In a weird way, it kind of came off like the mom was the bad guy after a whole movie where there was some even handed chewing over of each character.

It was like those last few scenes reduced all the complexity and messiness into a parable about paying better attention to your (narcissistic) kids.
