It is a shame that one did not last. I had forgotten how fun that whirlwind romance could be. Which is, at its very core, a shallow interpretation of romance. But I suppose it should be flattery when a woman is given flowers, or read poetry, or even saved from rain. Such chivalry, of course, should be applauded ( Read more... )

Romance and poetry. I suppose you're right. It is always shallow. But it can be fulfilling to read them in solitude.

I'm inclined to agree. In many ways, the 'romance' depicted by the flood was quite immature, like a child drawing a picture of its parents holding hands.

[She can likely expect at least one a day for at least the next week, all drawn in pencil and all of horrible butterflies. He might get colorful at some point but not in the next couple days.]
