Well, it's been over a month since I last updated. Work and classes have been hectic. The "honeymoon" period is over in my classroom and now we're seeing the real them. Haven't updated in awhile either and since Rach finally did, I guess I will too! I also love my job. Don't make much, but I LOVE IT!! My kids are so silly. 2 have mental retardation, 2 are autistic, one has something else and the other has a visual impairment. So begins another week of work. I had a great time last week. The kids are so great. They are super sweet. Just because they may not have a high mental capacity doesn't mean they can't be funny, either. We watched Radio with Cuba Gooding Jr during PE and everytime music would come on, they'd dance. Well, today was the first day of school. I had to cover 3 periods for another TA who is already out a week with mono. That class is all inclusive- the kids are great. Well, getting ready to go back to work and help set up classrooms. It's been an experience of mixed feelings. For 3 periods I am working with a special ed history class- mostly learning disabilities and behavioral problems so they all have IEP/IAP's. Well, got the job for teaching assistant at E.C. Glass High School! WOOT!! It's working with special education, but I think it's going to go great. It'll be really rewarding to with kids that will appreciate it. Pay isn't much but ithelps me get experience toward my licensure!! YAY!!
