Peacenicks and Protests

Last weekend was the annual SOA/WHINSC Rally and Vigil at Ft. Benning in Columbus, GA. I, of course, attended. This was my second year attending the protest. I have to say, it was much easier to take everything in the second time around. I attended the weekend with our Protestant Campus Pastor and another student. I didn't know you were there until Sunday when Carl said he had talked with you. I didn't know where you were located. I wish Carl would have let me know before then that he'd seen you. I really miss you. I wish you were still in Omaha.

I'm going to have to see this vigil for myself someday, I imagine I would find it an interesting experience being as I'm normally inside the fence looking out at demonstrators. Kelly invited me once but I wouldn't have known how to deal with it back then. I'm glad you had an experience that moved you so much.

Yeah, one of these days you will definitely have to come to the Vigil. I think you would probably have a good discussion with the Center for Conscience and War and with the Veterans for Peace. I'm sure they both would have a lot of stories to tell from their experiences in the military.
