I had a number of conversations - with different people - this weekend about the alleged intersections (and resulting incongruities) between science and religion. I noticed a ( number of things. )

-Not all atheists say “there is no god” that’s strong atheism, there’s also weak atheism which says “I don’t believe in any god ( ... )

Religion does not halt progress anymore than the poetry of Tennyson halts progress. They are both abstract ideas. People halt progress for a variety of reasons. Some of them use religion. Others use environmental, ethical, or economic reasons. I know several very religious people, myself included, who are actively, er, "progressing." I also know several atheists who oppose finding new hardware and software to automate menial tasks because it will cost them their job ( ... )
