[Chalked on the Wall of Rudy Miller's Bedroom | Off-Network]

[/Chalked]

Let the record show that as of today, I have been an inmate here for one hundred and fifty-three days. Accounting for the thirty-one days in May, July, and August, that means I have been present in this City for exactly five months. Fortunately, the recent storms and reported flooding did not erase the chalk tally from my bedroom wall, so the physical record of my time served here remains intact.

On a related note, let us all share a moment of silence for our late but worthy vessel, the HMCS Algonkian. Alas, her fate was as terrible as her namesake, and she will be missed as much as it won't.

Let the record also show that Thanksgiving is one week from today. I would extend my sincere hope that it will rain whole roasted turkeys that day, but as such precipitation would almost certainly present complications for any potential parades, I will refrain from doing so and instead settle for merely having one on the dinner table. Equally, copious amounts of mashed potatoes and gravy are a must.

Finally, it is now currently the month of October. Therefore, let the obligatory annual countdown be set at twenty-four days and counting, beginning on my mark.

Mark.

[OOC: Whee, Canadian Thanksgiving! So Rudy returns from his month of keeping a low profile, unfazed as ever despite the shipwreck, and is back to his usual trolling. Standard disclaimer--I am not Canadian, but Rudy is, so if I got any of the little details wrong, please let me know and I'll fix them! And yes, the last countdown is the number of days until his birthday--he turns thirteen this month. Scream.]
