Birth Story

If you didn't read my pregnancy story, here's a recap of how it ended... I had an intervention-happy doctor pushing an immediate induction on Friday, April 11th, and when I refused she made me schedule an appointment on Monday, April 14th. I did NOT want to see her again, so I desperately wanted to have my baby before my Monday appointment.

I am so glad you got to birth *your way*. Wouldn't it ahve been wful to have to go trhough induction only to find out you had a perfectly normal-sized baby who was just happy to be withing her mama? And I'd take castor oil over cytotec or pit induction any day.

I am truly sorry about the loss of your sister. I really don't have the right words, but please know that my prayers, though belated, are with you.
Is Andrea named after her?

Thanks. In the end, I'm pretty happy with how everything worked out, even if my doctors/midwives were difficult along the way. And the castor oil really wasn't bad at all. MUCH better than pitocin I think.

And thank you for your prayers about my sister. My family is still having a very difficult time, but I think it helps us all to see what a blessing Andrea is.

I'm glad it was helpful. It definitely pays to stick up for yourself, or have a friend or family member help. Doctors and midwives have a lot of medical training, but they don't know your body like you do, and they can have their own agenda.
