Hey everyone, I am currently 6.5 months pregnant and was diagnosed with GD about two weeks ago. I am looking for good low carb snacks and meals to make. Try sparkling water with lemon or lime, it's like a juice/soda combo without any sugar or calories. Spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles is a good alternative to pasta. Use lettuce leaves as wraps instead of bread or a bun.

I don't like sparkling water so I will pass on that but I will look into those types of noodles. Thanks. :)

I wonder if Shirataki noodles are OK? They are made of tofu and, if prepared right (rinse, drain, parboil) and given a good topping or sauce, taste pretty good. Suuuuper low-cal too.

Also, can you drink V8? I love love love me some V8 Spicy Hot. Maybe tomato juice has sugars though, I don't know.

I generally didn't change my cooking habits. I just altered my portions and paired them with extra protein as needed.

Snacks: berries, apple, granola bar, Greek yogurt, etc. again, always paired with appropriate protein sources: nuts, eggs, jerky, cheese

A great resource for all things GD is the GD group on babycenter.

Good luck! It's not fun, but it doesn't last forever either.

What kind of berries did you eat? Thanks for the info about babycenter, I will check that out. Thank you for the luck as well!

Different kinds. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries. Berries have a decent glycemic index. I was also most recently pregnant in the spring/ summer. Maybe you could find frozen ones. Just pay attention to portion sizes.
