The home birth of Brigit Dhabolt

Warning... this will contain LOTS of stuff that many will find to be TMI. If you're uncomfortable with that, you might want to skip all this and scroll down to the pictures. ;-) I will try not to post any pictures that have anything really "revealing" on them.

Wonderful story! See, i LOVED pushing! my labor was HARD and hurt so bad!! (every contraction felt like my hips were literally breaking, found out later it was because my water was already broken) Pushing was a relief! There was a LOT of screaming too! (my mom bought balloons saying 'welcome baby' to put outside my door so my neighbors didn't think i was trying to kill my husband LOL!).

But for about 6 months afterwards i was dead set NEVER having one for at least 2 years LOL! There was no 'oh it hurts but as soon as you see the baby you forget' thing. NOPE, i remembered it all and it HURT.

But crap your story and pictures make me want to do it again LOL Yes, it hurts but it's SO rewarding, and being at YOUR home is so nice!

And side note, i had a friend who tore up and around....i felt SO bad for her!!

My 3rd baby was my 1st homebirth too, but my 3rd unmedicated vaginal birth and I have to agree with you that pushing was SO HORRIBLE. Thank you for being so candid and honest I loved reading your story! Many blessings to your sweet family!

I've only had one natural, the first two were epidurals and induced and the last was emergency c/s, but with Andrea I managed to do it without any meds at all and I did vocalize a LOT more during hard labor than I thought I should have LOL...My hubby teased "for somebody who doesn't believe in him, you sure did yell at Jesus a lot" ROFL...but I had a much better experience with the pushing and delivery, no tear and I got up and peed right away, it was the most amazing feeling ever LOL

So, next time, hopefully it won't be so bad, that part anyways! And I do agree, the recovery and after care is SOOO much easier, even though all mine were at the hospital, that natural one was so much faster and easier to recover! If I could do them all over, I'd skip the inductions and labor at home as much as I could, maybe even the whole thing!
