As of approximately 24 hours ago, I am officially closer to 30 than to 25. I'm also married, have a 3 1/2 month old baby and 4 guinea pigs, and I'm on leave from getting my master's degree. Somewhere in the back of my head, the voice of my 17-year-old self is really freaking out right now.

Brennan had his first laugh today!!! I was giving him a kiss attack along his neck and shoulders, and he just came out with all these giggles. What an awesome thing to witness... a human being's first laughter.

Brennan's crying spells have mostly subsided, but he's gotten more sensitive to his surroundings lately. Too many people or too much noise can both set him off, and I'm suddenly flashing back to when my sisters were very young and my mother used to disappear from family functions a lot. OH! Ugh. Brennan has been having crying fits. They suck. So, Brennan and I went grocery shopping yesterday (big achievement) and while we were there we stopped in the pharmacy to refill a prescription for me. There was a middle-aged woman in front of us in line, relatively normal-looking and -acting. Or so I thought at first.
