I taught myself everything. I was a lot younger when I got started - which was around 14 (11 years ago!!!), but I was always drawing, or painting until my dad brought home a COMPUTER. I sat there all night and created things, without sleep. And that passion continued! I was in a band  at the time, and started asking friends, bandmates etc if they ( Read more... )

you know, i envy you that. when i was little, i used to draw all the time. i'd look at pictures in books and draw them, but then when i hit 8th grade or so i just stopped doing it. i kind of discovered web design in late 2001 and really liked it but eventually quit because i figured i wasn't creative enough for it. i'm 25 and still don't know what the hell i want to do. i think it's great you've accomplished so much for yourself and even more amazing that you're so talented in multiple areas!

theres a lot you can do with creativity! i even got into sewing for a bit! but i hear you, it takes a lot of patience to deal with the web design industry... the clients are the worst part! haha

thanks for the kind words, i've recently discovered that being alone is what it takes to realize your plans and goals for the future.

i used to have a self-taught statement on my website bio... my fiance pointed out regardless of my work, it doesn't look as credible, as if perhaps i had attended and graduated from college. he's right and i took it down. it sucks, i wish i could go back to school..... but, it's just not the right now.

i was always bothered by the whole college thing... i didnt want to go because i wanted to do my own thing and what not, but i'm glad i did go, because i may not have learned A LOT but i liked the experience of it. it wasn't a special college either, it was very small and basic, to the point, but i still got what i needed from it.

but in my experience of working, a portfolio is all that matters in the freelance and corporate industry.
